Charlotte b-i-yers rate where they buy
Article Abstract:
Buy-it-yourself home remodelers customers in the Charlotte, NC, area must, for the most part, choose between The Home Depot and Lowe's. Both chains have four stores in the area. Customers are generally happy with both chains in terms of selection and price but are unhappy with the quality of service they receive, especially at Home Depot. On-floor personnel at Home Depot are often unable to explain the use of products, customers say.

Buying it yourself in Charlotte
Article Abstract:
Participants in a Charlotte, NC, focus group offered a variety of reasons for engaging in buy-it-yourself (b-i-y) home-improvement activities. Like participants in a Home Improvement Research Institute study of b-i-y activity, the Charlotte group's members agreed that their homes are of central importance. B-i-y activity involves hiring a contractor to install equipment purchased by the homeowner.
