Filling in the blanks: ground covers thrive where nothing else will grow

Ground cover can solve many problems in a landscape. These include slowing erosion on steep banks. Around foundations, they help to drain runoff water. They can be grown in shady or too dry areas where ofter plants will not thrive. They are useful for borders and for covering large expanses.
