Landscaped cemeteries in the South are not only the final refuge of loved ones who have passed away, but also serve as a showcase for classic Southern plants. These final resting places are usually planted with roses, bulbs and evergreens. Some plants even trace their origins to graveyards.

Please forgive winterberry

Winterberries are some of the most adaptable plants that Southerners grow in their gardens during the winter season. Although winterberries lose their leaves during winter, these shrubs actually give rise to bright red berries that last during the entire season.
