Kitchens planned for recycling

Linda Eshel and her architect-husband Ory have remodeled their kitchen to make recycling easier. Separate compartments were designed to hold wire bins on pull-out tracks for easy sorting of disposable materials. A Houston firm owned by Kirk Craig, likewise designs kitchens for easy recycling.

Artful ambience

Homeowner Nancy Morrow created a warm atmosphere in her kitchen by handpainting floral designs on her cabinets and allowing free access to the morning room. The decorations and furnishings are based on French country styles, such as carved niches, granite countertops and wood furniture.

Nooks make cozy spaces

Kitchens and sitting areas may be both appealing and functional. The ideal use of nooks provides desks, cabinets and window seats, serving practical functions. These same remodeling components give the area an aesthetic appeal which an entire family cann appreciate.
