New face, more space

Architect Daly Smith, Jr. added a two-story gable to the front of Boone and Claire Smith's home in Macon, GA. The addition allowed the construction of a new bathroom on the second floor and expanded thefoyer on the ground floor. The gable also gives the house a more distinctive facade.

Angled for the family

What a difference a porch makes

A couple added a porch to their ranch-style house. The traditional raised porch is supported by six evenly-spaced columns to create a feeling of symmetry. The new porch is painted wood to preserve the traditional design.
