Port Gibson, Mississippi, located between Vicksburg and Natchez on U.S. 61, was founded in 1788. The third oldest town in the state, Port Gibson features old mansions untouched by Union troops, old churches and synagogues, and the Mississippi Cultural Crossroads organization which displays quilting from the group of Mississippi women who started it.
