A day in the life of an occupational physician
Article Abstract:
The occupational health nurse decides if and when a patient may work and sometimes determines the duties they perform. Any work-related illnesses or conditions are referred on to the occupational health physician who treats the patient in this capacity and may also refer the patient to their own general practitioner. Dying for information
Article Abstract:
Managers must learn to refuse to deal with the constant stream of information sent to them via the electronic-mail system. They must learn to prioritize their work. Companies could help their managers by purchasing software which sorts out e-mail communications. Some 25% of UK managers admit to disregarding communications in an attempt to prevent feeling stressed. Many managers admitted to feeling under pressure in the workplace as the result of the amount of junk mail they received via the Internet. A study found 42% of managers were suffering illnesses due to stress at work.
