Barrister calls for new offence of corporate killing at IOSH 99
Article Abstract:
The British Law Commission has issued a report that has recommended changes to the law on health and safety. The recommendations include provisions for a new offense, corporate killing, to be created, in order to be able to prosecute companies in Britain that have not dealt with health and safety issues affecting others, including employees. The Law Commission also recommends that killing by gross carelessness and reckless killing should replace voluntary manslaughter as an offense.
