Outplacement: a way of never having to say you're sorry?
Article Abstract:
There is a growing call for the implementation of more stringent standards in the outplacement industry of the UK. This call has emerged as a result of the the rising number of small outplacement agencies that have cropped up during the recession. A survey conducted by Kingsland James confirms this call for heightened regulation and showed employee protection, the quality and extent of training of employment agency consultants, and their skills and credentials as the main concerns in the industry. The survey indicated that polled human resources personnel were very receptive to a code of conduct developed by the Institute of Personnel Management such that it was regarded as a useful reference.
