Article Abstract:
The manner in which protective clothing could help beat the stresses and strains of extreme temperature in the workplace is described. In order to best protect workers facing the hazards of extreme heat or cold, an employer must adhere to a number of safety measures including risk assessments, elimination of cold or heat sources and isolation of the worker where possible.

Article Abstract:
A provision of hearing protection to employees when noise levels are above 85dB(A) for an 8-hour day is a requirement as per the Noise at Work Regulations 1989. A guide to hearing protection for workers is presented that includes reducing the noise exposure and the usage of roll-down plugs, pod plugs, pre-moulded earplugs, and banded plugs and semi-aurals.
