Building a movement for the health care: Key to organizing the unorganized?
Article Abstract:
An argument is presented as to why labor should join in leading an offensive for single-payer national health insurance (NH), not only to win health care for all, but also to start a broader social and economic justice movement that will create a socio-political climate that is conducive to organizing the unorganized. Whether this movement will create a climate in which union membership will grow exponentially is not guaranteed by history.
