Cadbury's dictionary of competence
Article Abstract:
Cadbury Schweppes PLC has developed a competence based assessment framework for managerial competence. The company used an assessment center consultant to help devise a menu of behaviors correlating with job success, which, combined with a major overhaul of performance assessment, created a language of 50 competencies categorized into six groups that describe and quantify managers. The advantages of the competence-based language in management performance assessment are: it provides a vehicle for making better informed development decisions; it has enhanced the influence of personnel on issues of management development; and it has linked the role of personnel management to business performance.

Cadbury's dictionary of competence
Article Abstract:
Cadbury Schweppes PLC has instituted a program of management behavior competence over the past decade, in an effort to simplify the management process, remove management layers, and dissolve professional services and specialties. The company has used methods involving team roles, psychometric testing, and competence data to achieve its goals. Through the process, Cadbury Schweppes has created a dictionary of competence that has helped to create a common ground for hiring qualified employees. The competence language has enabled Cadbury's personnel managers to have a positive influence on decisions related to the selection and development of employees.
