Career management practices: an empirical survey and implications
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the ways in which companies approach career development, using a survey of 194 companies in the United Kingdom. Five groups of practices were identified and associated with organizational characterisitcs; a two dimensional model for understanding and applying these concepts is provided.

An empirical assessment of Sonnenfeld's career systems typology
Article Abstract:
The results of an empirical study conducted to test the Sonnenfeld's career systems topology is presented. The results support the strength of one dimension, supply flow, in terms of reliability and validity, but less for the other dimension such as assignment flow.
