Article Abstract:
The US Department of Labor will soon release an interpretive bulletin for 401(k) professionals and plan sponsors which will distinguish between investment advice and investment education in participant-directed retirement plans. The bulletin identifies data and material classes, including their characteristics, which would not be considered investment advice. These include plan information, general financial and investment information, asset allocation models and interactive investment models.
