Diversity in the voluntary sector
Article Abstract:
The voluntary sector is considered as slow in terms of issues of diversity, and one of the largest voluntary organizations in UK is the Women's Royal Voluntary Services (WRVS) with over 95,000 volunteers. The pressure to recruit and retain volunteers that have forced the organization to consider how it can become more diverse, and the measures that are needed to bring about changes are reported.

Widening opportunities for women
Article Abstract:
Widening opportunities for women is a program launched by Leeds Metropolitan University in 2000. The program was started to ensure that women filled 35 percent of the vacancies in senior academic positions by 2004. An assessment of the program and the benefits it brought to both the university and the women is presented.
