Draft Equal Pay (Amendment) regulations

The UK government has published draft Regulations to amend the Equal Pay Act (EPA) sections of the EPA dealing with the time limits for bringing claims and the period of time in respect of which arrears may be awarded. They modify the procedure for bringing equal value claims by giving tribunals greater discretion to disregard the findings of an employer's job evaluation scheme.

Draft disability discrimination bill
Article Abstract:
The government has published its draft Bill to amend the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) and implement recommendations. A Parliamentary Joint Committee is established to consider the draft Bill and to report both the houses of the parliament and the new provisions are intended to increase the protection of persons with cancer, MS, or HIV.

The implications of the Equal Pay Act, 1970 (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and the Employment Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 are discussed. The statutes deal with equal value complaints.
