Eastern Europe marks trust in the European Union
Article Abstract:
Companies throughout Eastern and Central Europe are being challenged to adopt more responsible attitudes towards health and safety at work. In the Czech Republic, Milos Palecek, Director of Prague's Occupational Safety Research Institute, is leading a campaign that will try to bring Czech safety practices in line with European Union directives. Meanwhile, in Slovakia, former state aluminium smelter Slovalco is undertaking an environmental clean-up in partnership with Norway's Hydro Aluminium, which is also overseeing an integrated health and safety at work management system for Slovalco.
