Flexible employment: composition and trends
Article Abstract:
A comparison is made between flexible employees, defined as self-employed persons and temporary workers, and other employees, examining trends in categories such as aggregate growth, size, variability and cyclicality. It is concluded that significant differences exist between self-employed people, temporary employment personnel, and other types of workers, specifically between demographic groups such as age, education and gender.
