Germany: IG Metall demands increases of up to 4%
Article Abstract:
The metalworking trade union IG Metall has recommended that its regional bargaining units go into negotiations demanding a pay increase of up to 4% within the context of a 12-month agreement. However employers have stated that the pay claims are too high as productivity is expected to grow by a maximum of 1.4% in 2004 and that any increase above this level would serve to destroy jobs.
