Investment activity on the rise
Article Abstract:
Pension trusts are expanding their investment activities in anticipation of a recovering economy in 1995. The real estate industry is particularly well-positioned to benefit from increased investment spending since new construction is unlikely to occur, leading to higher prices across real estate sectors. Real estate is also a less expensive investment relative to financial instruments and replacement costs. Properties that are slowly recovering in value include commercial, multifamily, industrial and hotel real estate.

Tactical asset allocation isn't for the weak-hearted
Article Abstract:
Some plan sponsors subscribe to the view that the asset-allocation decision is not permanent in character and should be manipulated according to the dictates of the situation. In this approach, called tactical asset allocation (TAA), market conditions are exploited by opting for more profitable asset classes to maximize returns.
