Learn what's hot in portable pensions
Article Abstract:
Companies should design their pension plans according to the needs of their employees. To do this, compensation managers should have a good understanding of the organization's employment profile to ensure that what they are offering are actually rewarding the right kind of employee service. One of the newest pension plan schemes that are popular among young, fast-track employees is the cash-balance plans. These pension programs offer individual 'phantom' or 'hypothetical' account balances to participants to enable them to keep track of their respective account balances every year. These plans are more advantageous to employees than defined-contribution plans or 401(k) plans because the it is the employer that makes the contribution, invests the funds and assumes all the risk.
