Managing work-life conflict among information technology workers
Article Abstract:
Organizations use information technology (IT) to help them compete, with it, comes the need for IT professionals to work on different challenges. Performing tasks to overcome these challenges usually require long hours of work and round-the-clock support, which might cause the IT worker to suffer from work-life conflict. To help organizations increase the work-life balance of their IT workers, antecedents to work-life conflict in the IT profession are analyzed.

Of races to run and battles to be won: technical skill updating, stress and coping of IT professionals
Article Abstract:
IT professionals were interviewed to analyze how they deal with the threat of technical obsolescence. It was found that most IT workers find it stressful to constantly update their technical skills and they used different ways to cope with the ordeal. A cognitive approach to technical obsolescence was used to describe implications for managerial practice and suggestions for future research are provided.

Testing and extending the unfolding model of voluntary turnover to IT professionals
Article Abstract:
The turnover decision making processes of information technology (IT) workers are analyzed with the aid of the unfolding model of voluntary turnover. Three new decision paths arose, and 88% of the respondents followed paths not among the five original theorized paths, suggesting that IT workers do take varied ways in deciding to leave a job and most of the time in consideration of alternative ones.
