Mixed picture on equality in higher education.
Article Abstract:
According to a research undertaken by Higher Education Funding Council for England, there is a vast difference in the opinions of staff and managers in higher education on benefits from equal opportunities policies. Managers feel that adequate measures are taken towards achieving greater equality. However, staff is not too happy. The reasons for the staff's disgruntlement are discussed and analyzed.

Extending positive duties across the equality grounds
Article Abstract:
This article describes the inconsistent efforts at implementing the Race Relations (Amendment) Act in Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and London. An absence of a clear statutory duty to implement this law has been an impediment.
