Old age retirement pensions and social security
Article Abstract:
Old age retirement benefits under social security programs around the world are examined in terms of how financial and demographic developments affect social security in relation to private pension systems. The provision of tax incentives for elderly care and informal family and community support structures should be re-examined in preparation for the next century's demographic crunch. Programs should be designed to fit within a country's social and cultural norms in addition to satisfying fiscal requirements.
