Strategies for effective presentations
Article Abstract:
When giving a presentation to employees the personnel manager should be lively, entertaining, brief, available for questions, and know the topic under discussion. Though studies show that many people may approach topics which are controversial with their opinion already formed, others believe themselves to be objective, and the personnel manager should make an allowance for such a perception and give both sides of the issue. The more the communicator understands about the audience, the easier it is to tailor the presentation.

Mergers: the personnel squeeze
Article Abstract:
Comprehensive guidelines are given which will help the personnel director to prepare for a company acquisition or merger. Though the personnel director can be asked to check the other firm's benefit, compensation, retirement or stock plans, few will ask the proper questions concerning the pluses and minuses of the other company's human resources. The personnel director must examine the differences and similarities between the two company cultures.
