Article Abstract:
UK local government workers were studied to assess the effects of social and negative exchanges on work-related attitude and behavior. Positive exchanges led to enhanced worker attitude and behavior, while negative exchanges led to increased work-related stress and likeliness to quit. Exchange practices leading to increased motivation and enhanced work-related attitude were also studied.
