The aim of the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act (UCITA) is standardization of the law for licensing technological products such as software . This law is usually judge-made, meaning it varies between states, and the UCITA would lead to interstate uniformity.Proposed as a companion piece to the Uniform Commercial Code, the UCITA is controversial, and the American Law Institute, a partner in UCC work, has withdrawn support.
