A think tank for criminal law
Article Abstract:
The ABA Criminal Justice Section, counting among its 9000 members defense counsel, prosecutors, and others in the criminal justice section, has a well-deserved reputation as a national think tank on criminal justice issues. The section is a leader in ABA work to solve issues involving crime, criminal law, and the administration of criminal and juvenile justice. The section has developed the ABA Standards for Criminal Justice and the Juvenile Justice Center is also among its projects.

Who speaks for the kids?
Article Abstract:
The A.B.A. Center on Children and the Law is described. Dounded in 1978, it is one of the oldest and most respected national bodies to deal with legal issues affecting children. In addition to educating the legal profession, the center reaches out to others impacted by the interdisciplinary teamwork involed in this area of the law.

Establishment of the ABA Justice Center, which organizationally unites the Judicial Division, the Coalition for Justice, and several ABA committees in the area is discussed. Outreach efforts planned to reach nonlegal organizations are mentioned.
