Appealing the O.J. civil case; if errors were made, are they enough for a reversal?
Article Abstract:
At press time most observers thought O.J. Simpson would lose his civil case and file an appeal. Civil trial favoring of the plaintiffs seems to have occurred in several ways including jury selection, judicial rulings and attorney performance. Observers question the admissibility, late in the proceeding, of photographs of Simpson purportedly wearing the kind of Bruno Magli shoes which left bloody footprints near the victims' bodies. Simpson's lawyer failed to persuade a higher court to intervene on the admissibility of a tape of the Fuhrman cross-examination. What happened during jury deliberations is also in question.

Simpson trial lawyers: a big contrast; plaintiffs' lead counsel is praised for good preparation; opponent gets marks for style
Article Abstract:
Courtroom observers commend the lead plaintiff's lawyer in the OJ Simpson civil trial for his thorough preparation and solid attack, while Simpson's top defense lawyer wins points for style and presence. David Petrocelli, retained by Fred Goldman to pursue to wrongful-death case against Simpson for the deaths of his son Ron and Simpson's estranged wife Nicole, is a team player with a polite approach. Robert C Baker, head of the defense team, evinces frustration with the judge but has retained his famed sense of humor.
