Article Abstract:
Attorneys are vilified because their work often demands thay they bury their moral scruples. A successful defense of a corporate practice could result in increased risk of injury to workers. The adversarial legal structure in the US demands that every party have the right to a zealous advocate, but this system can stripe lawyers of moral perspective. Lawyers' intensive work schedule also leaves them little time to think of the moral implications of their work.
