Biz law is future of pro bono growth; public interest law is no longer the sole province of litigators, with nonprofits seeking corporate lawyers as volunteers
Article Abstract:
Pro bono work involving the business law needs of nonprofit groups is discussed and is an excellent opportunity for the corporate lawyer. More than 730,000 nonprofit groups operated across the US by 1998, and the trend toward privatization means that services once provided by the government come from these groups.

Catholic Charities and Lawyers Committee for Human Rights have trained attorneys to represent Kosovars and others seeking asylum as political refugees in the US. The organizations have succeeded in training attorneys with no background in immigration law.
