Business ethics and the history of economics in Spain "The School of Salamanca: A Bibliography."
Article Abstract:
The 'School of Salamanca' is a group of theologians and natural law philosophers who were inspired by the great Thomist Francisco de Vitoria and taught at the University of Salamanca, Spain. The group, which was founded in the 13th century, developed original theories on international law and economics. The effort was triggered by the increasing problems on business ethics that pushed them to analyze the ethical issues involved in economic activities.

Ethics and the board of directors in Spain: the Olivencia Code of Good Governance
Article Abstract:
The problem of corporate government has been the concern of academic groups, companies and the public administration in an open and globalized economy. Corporate governance is influenced by a country's culture, economic condition and organizational structures. Thus, not one method can be employed in or is relevant to all contexts. The Spanish Olivencia Report is an attempt to develop an ethical code that could be applied in various contexts.

Early business ethics in Spain: the Salamanca School (1526-1614)
Article Abstract:
The development of business ethics in the Spanish Salamanca School is discussed including how it could contribute to developments in business ethics. The best period for the school was when Spain was among the major centers of commerce in Europe. The school, whose authors were theologians following Thomas Aquinas' natural-law and attempting to bring together faith, reason and social reality, was focused on action.
