Collective bargaining and compensation at public junior colleges
Article Abstract:
Faculty unions and collective bargaining result in an 8% increase in teacher compensation at public junior colleges. Data from a Dept of Education study indicate that unions at the public junior colleges are much more successful at raising teachers' salaries than are the unions at comprehensive and doctoral/research universities.

Graduate student employee collective bargaining and the educational relationship between faculty and graduate students
Article Abstract:
The author analyzes faculty members' attitudes regarding their experiences with graduate students who are members of unions. Results indicate that collective bargaining agreements do not interfere with their ability to advise and instruct graduate students.
