Commercial law issues arising from the Y2K problem
Article Abstract:
Lawyers should be aware of the potential Year 2000 problems (Y2K) that may affect various aspects of commercial law after Dec 31, 1999. Y2K refers to the potential inability of computer software and embedded computer chips to account for the change from 1999 to 2000. Practitioners should prepare for possible effects of Y2K on such UCC matters as the collection and payment of checks, wire transfers, investment securities, secured lending, and letters of credit.
