Article Abstract:
Four notebook computers, the Dell 320SLi, the Gateway 2000, the Toshiba 4400SX and the Zenith Z-Note 320L, were evaluated for their suitability as courtroom computers. These computers ranged in price from $1,900 for the Zenith to $3,500 for the Toshiba. All were found to be quiet enough for courtroom use. The Dell had the most convenient size and weight, the Toshiba had the greatest screen clarity and durability, the Gateway the best power and price/performance ratio and the Zenith the best battery life and power management.

News of the world now on the net
Article Abstract:
Internet sites now offer new ways to locate and explore important non-legal news that formerly could be found only at major libraries. CNN Interactive is the preeminent online source, with hyperlinks to other CNN stories and the Lexis-Nexis databases. The Wall Street Journal offers a similar World Wide Web area with hyperlinks, while the New York Times has a daily eight-page online newspaper in Adobe Acrobat format. Many other newspapers are available, as is software to create your own from many different sources.
