Boston immigration attorney Anthony Pelino's journey from pro bono work with the Florence Immigration and Human Rights Project to a decision to move his immigration practice to the small town of Florence is described. The challenge of representing a large population of detained aliens attracted Pelino to this area.

New York lawyers: are they that bad? Negative stereotype may have some validity, but hardly tells whole story

New York attorneys negative stereotype and reputation for a very hard-edged style along with a tendency to argue an issue to death may be somewhat valid, and lawyers in such a large professional community may have less accountability. Attorneys lacking deep roots in the city may not achieve maximum effectiveness for their clients. Part of the daunting nature of New York lawyers may be an extension of the city itself.
