20 tips for moving from WordPerfect to Word
Article Abstract:
Microsoft Word and Novell's WordPerfect appear similar at first blush but many differences separate the packages. Word stores formatting information in a paragraph symbol that can be copied and pasted to transfer formatting onto other paragraphs. Thus, formatting commands apply only within paragraphs that have been selected or the paragraph containing the insertion point, rather than from the insertion point forward as in WordPerfect. In Word, the enter or return key carries indent and paragraph information into the next, new paragraph, whereas in WordPerfect it ends the indent. Unlike WordPerfect, Word allows users to edit separate places in a document using the Window / Split command.

21 tips for moving from WordPerfect to Word
Article Abstract:
Twenty-one migration tips are presented to smooth the process of moving from WordPerfect to Microsoft Word 2000. It is important to understand that formatting, headers and footers, footnotes, tables, navigation, macros and templates work differently in Word. WordPerfect is a linear program, and it is printer-oriented, but Word is object-oriented. In Word, sections, paragraphs, characters, and other text and graphic elements, are treated as entities in and of themselves.
