Duke blue devil troika ascends to high-level Justice Dept. posts
Article Abstract:
Three former Duke University Law School professors occupy top positions at the US Department of Justice. Walter E Dellinger, formerly constitutional law professor, became acting solicitor general on July 1, 1996, after a time as head of the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). Dellinger brought along H. Jefferson Powell, a Duke University professor on leave, as his deputy in the solicitor general's office. The move gave their fellow Duke professor Christopher H. Schroeder the top OLC position. The Duke Law School's prestige has grown from these professors' move into government.
