Panel to examine implant evidence: unusual move by two New York federal judges could be copied elsewhere
Article Abstract:
Experts hail the decision of two federal judges in New York to create a panel of neutral experts to advise them on the scientific issues in silicone breast implant litigation. US District Judges Jack Weinstein and Harold Baer Jr are managing all such cases in the southern and eastern districts of the state, but the move could have profound implications elsewhere, as an accompanying state-level order recognized. The two appointed three special masters to help select a panel that will review scientific evidence.
