Lawyers choosing law office technology should not reject tried and true solutions just because they are old. A lawyer's main task is to transform thoughts into efficiently organized subject matter. Tape recorders are old but they can help lawyers with case management, computer input, keeping track of thoughts, structuring facts and with detailed timekeeping. The legal secretary can transfer tape-recorded material to the computer.
