Fight for your rights
Article Abstract:
E-mail proliferation in the work place and e-mail personalities are discussed. One of the worst though benign type of e-mail abuser is the CC Maven, who sends carbon copy messages to several persons. Unfortunately, many who receive the e-mail send replies. Considering that it takes five minutes to read and understand an e-mail message, the CC Maven is a great resource waster. Another e-mail type is the "Milquetoast Marvin" or the "Mellow Melinda", who transforms once he or she is behind a keyboard and turn on "e-rage" to abuse people. Other e-mail personalities include the "Obfuscating Wanderer", who cannot keep a message brief and the "Neuron Star", who never replies to a message.

Desparately seeking something!
Article Abstract:
Internet search engines can prove frustrating to use and tend to offer superfluous information. A search for parking areas in San Francisco, for instance, might provide information on parking policies in Barcelona or instructions for parking in San Jose. Meta-search engines can provide a solution. These services, such as The Ask Jeeves site (http://ask.com), conduct searches for specified topics by searching other search engines. They employ the same query terms as the search engines, but can locate information where the others fail. They frequently locate information contained within the other search engines themselves, when those engines failed in the task.

Trailer park marketing
Article Abstract:
'Trailer Park Marketing' refers to Web site marketing for people who have no technical expertise and are pressed for time and money. Other law firms may have advantages in these areas, but it is possible to compensate. For example, it is possible to look at work already done by visiting AltaVista.com and typing 'link:competing_firm.com, replacing 'competing_firm' without the quote marks and with the other firm's domain name. This invokes a list of Web sites that connect to the competing firm's sites. A marketing technique that should be avoided is sending out unsolicited e-mail, also known as 'spam.'
