The device will scan a page in a matter of seconds and display it on a backlighted monochrome screen. The images can be transferred to a PC or directly to any printer with an IR port. The CapShare 920 will hold 50 pages in memory and the user can page through the documents. Lawyers will find the device useful and it eliminates the need to locate a photocopier or to take notes by hand. The device also eliminates the need to copy an entire page, enabling the user to copy only the relevant material. The device requires some time to learn to use, and the screen is too small for viewing text comfortably.

Free faxing via e-mail
Article Abstract:
eFax.com, formerly JetFax, has introduced a new free service that enables subscribers to receive, although not send, faxes via e-mail. After signing up at the e.Fax.com site, each subscriber receives eFax.com's proprietary viewer software, a unique phone number and a PIN via e-mail. Any document faxed to the phone number will be converted into an image file, then e-mailed to the subscriber's designated e-mail address in the form of an e-mail attachment. When subscribers click on the attachment, the eFax.com's viewer generates an envelope, the address area of which describes how long the fax is, who sent it and the time and date it was received. Small, unobtrusive ad icons appear where the stamp would be. The eFax.com service is very useful for traveling attorneys.
