In memorium: A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr
Article Abstract:
Judge A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. will be remembered for his lifetime of service to the community. Rising from humble origins, he overcame many obstacles to become a federal district court judge, a member of the Federal Trade Commission, and ultimately a Judge of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. One of the first and youngest African-Americans to be appointed to the federal bench, Higginbotham was a tireless crusader for civil rights.
