Article Abstract:
Issues regarding the federalism rulings the US Supreme Court issued during the 199-2000 term are discussed. The court limited federal civil rights authority by using the doctrine of state sovereign immunity to protect states accused of violating federal anti-discrimination law and narrowed the Congressional regulatory power over interstate commerce.

Miranda reprised; chief justice states warnings are embedded in law and the culture
Article Abstract:
The US Supreme Court's ruling in Dickerson v. United States is discussed, and stated that the Miranda warning is so entrenched as to have become a part of American culture and thus should not be overturned. Dickerson hwas handed down during the 1999-2000 term.

Justice in job disputes; with mandatory arbitration ok'd, focus shifts to making sure it's fair
Article Abstract:
Fairness issues of mandatory labor arbitration, including fees and discovery and the exclusion of punitive damages from arbitration, are discussed. Some labor lawyers state it will take years after the Supreme Court ruling to resolve the fairness issues.
