Keeping in front of the future; embracing change may be key to survival for the profession
Article Abstract:
John Naisbitt spoke at a conference on the future of the legal profession sponsored by the ABA Law Practice Management Section and predicted that Asia will become the world's economic powerhouse, creating global companies, and that companies will consist of many local entities joined together in networks of intense global coordination. Attendees at the conference worried about encroachment on what has traditionally been lawyers' turf by accounting firms, financial services providers and other nonlawyers. Naisbitt advocated joint ventures including nonlawyers.
