Equal Justice Library to harbor 'stacks' of info on Legal Aid's past
Article Abstract:
Spr 1997 will see a new home for materials documenting the history of America's legal service to the poor at a new library of American University's Washington College of Law. The mission of the Equal Justice Library will be preserving the heritage of legal aid, pro bono lawyers and public defenders. Harriet W. Ellis, the library's development and acquisitions consultant, says it will be the first US library of its kind.

A leading creditor says it will make student borrowing tougher
Article Abstract:
The Access Group, one of the largest US sources of private loans to law school students, is to announce a new system for weeding out those likely to default on student loans. Probes of an applicants financial history will be more complete and applicants are advised to have good credit histories. The Access Group announed in 1996 that defaults had reached 17% of dollars loaned to law school graduates.
