The Internet provides information from hundreds of companies, including coverage options and reports on insurers' financial soundness. Most insurance companies now have their own sites, many providing direct quotes. Many sites will also search for the cheapest quotes from multiple insurers.

Lenders have traditionally used pledged-asset mortgages to help cash-poor lenders obtain financing without down-payments, but have started targeting wealthy people ready to pledge investment holdings as collateral for homes with 100% mortgages.
