Litigation firms are discussed which provide upfront cash to plaintiffs and receive a minority interest in any judgment or settlement in return. These businesses buy a stake in the lawsuit's outcome rather than loaning money with interest to plaintiff or attorney. Several of the the Florida Bar's opinions have found the practice unethical.
