Massachusetts court takes shot at private country club for gender discrimination
Article Abstract:
The Massachusetts Superior Court case of Borne v. Haverhill Golf & Country Club is discussed, which found that private clubs permitting use of their facilities by outside groups are "Public accommodations" subject to anti-discrimination laws. Borne is one of growing number of cases with such findings.

Article Abstract:
The many aliens detained indefinitely as a result of the Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 are discussed. The law, which is retroactive makes all aliens convicted of agrravated felonies deportable.Judicial review of deportation and detention decisions decreases and the INS Board of Immigration Appeals had the final say in most immigration decisions.

Conjuring Clarence Darrow, while some seek the crusading lawyer's ghost, others honor his spirit
Article Abstract:
The Clarence Darrow Memorial Bridge in Chicago is described as one of the city's legendary haunted sites. The famous litigator's ashes were scattered from this site after his death in 1938 and his ghost has reputedly been seen here.
