London insurer halts payments; many lawyers affected?
Article Abstract:
Financially troubled Britain-based Walbrook Insurance Co has stopped paying claims while trying to avoid liquidation. Walbrook is an important player in the US legal malpractice insurance market, and until Mar 1990 a number of brokers marketed its legal malpractice insurance to US attorneys. Walbrook's financial woes began with the Mar 1990 bankruptcy of London United Investments PLC and a subsidiary. It is not yet clear whether the British Policyholders Protection Board, the government fund for troubled insurance companies, will pay the bills if Walbrook defaults on claims payments.

Data helps Rosenbergs cheat death
Article Abstract:
A mock trial retrying the Julius and Ethel Rosenberg espionage case was conducted at the ABA's annual meeting for 1993. Riskier than many mock trials do to its subject matter, some dismissed this one as an attempt to rewrite history. The Jello box top that was a crucial piece of evidence in the first trial came into play in the mock courtroom as well. The decision not to interview prosecution witness Harry Gold at the original trial was not made in this case, and the defendants were found to be innocent.
